Meet the Maker: Linda!
Immediately after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from San Jose State University, Linda began her career in color and design. In 1984, she opened her own Interior Design Center and three weeks later completed her first six model home contracts. In this development she selected furniture, fabrics, window coverings and art. During the next 3 years many of her design contacts expressed an interest in jewelry. In 1987, a separate division of her company (Updates) when her long- time friend and fellow designer became her business partner. For the next 33 years, colors, textures and patterns not only became a business but a way of life. Using colors in jewelry, art and fabrics kept her both busy and creative. In 1997, Linda passed her Real Estate Brokers Exam as well as becoming an ASP (Accredited Staging Professional). Whether showing and selling properties, staging homes or designing jewelry, color is her passion. Each piece in her Updates line of jewelry is an individual one-of-a-king piece of jewelry. The uniqueness starts with using semi-precious stones, then analyzing colors, textures and scales to complete each piece. Her work is shown 18 times per year including at the Los Gatos History Club, Regale and Bargetto Wineries, Seascape Resort, the Livermore Art Walk, and both Chamber and Art and Wine Festivals in Carmel Valley, Pacific Grove, Aptos, Scotts Valley, Walnut Creek, Cambria and Los Gatos. During the last 10 years Linda displayed her jewelry at the Goose Boutique. You could find her right outside the door. She is proud this year to present her jewelry at the Goose Boutique Online.
